Anna Hung

Life has presented me with countless experiences to prevail from the many hardships that I must endure. For all that I have encountered, I must thank God for He walked these paths with me. It was through God’s guidance that gave me the strength, the persistence and the determination to overcome all the difficulties.

I have done my share of traveling since I was young. Although born in Nanjing, my family immigrated to Indonesia when I was still a baby. After residing in Indonesia for several years, we left for Hong Kong, where I met my husband, Jimmy; he and I later on decided to move to Canada together. Although my schooling was received through a Christian educational facility, my belief in God did not prosper until I entered the working world. There was a period of time when I had neglected to attend church; neglected to preserve my connection with God. It was God who guided me and led me back into his embrace. God, through His leadership, allowed me to maintain that bond, a bond that once existed between God and me.

God has provided me with light in the darkest days of my life. Years ago, my husband developed a medical problem with his eye. He was not a Christian at that time and even refused to go to church with me. One day, he suddenly told me that he wanted to go to church with me. I was completely taken by surprise and it was at that point that God really started to have an impact on both of us. For me, my faith in Him grew stronger. As for Jimmy, he was miraculously healed by God. It was such an amazing experience that Jimmy eventually became a Christian. He subsequently, he formed a band and named it Pelicans and we began to open our home for weekly practices. I have little talent in music; therefore my contribution to his band is to provide a clean setting for which the band uses to practice and to prepare snacks for the members when they are in our home. Through their performances, Jimmy thrives to utilize the power of music to express his belief in God. And I, as his wife, try to help out wherever I feel I can be of use to serve alongside him.

At the present time, my life imposes many demands on me. My position as a full time secretary at a busy law firm requires long hours. Band rehearsals provide me with the occasion to have weekly contributes to the Pelicans. There are obligations for my family and home as well as my connections with my friends. Through each and every moment of life, I believe God is beside me and I am grateful for His leadership. I will continue to worship God and to further acquire more knowledge and understanding of God and Christianity.
